Crabs were not good

Gotta love a hometown establishment like Haru Howard's! The folks working are always friendly and knowledgeable. Usually the best prices on the island for seafood.

In the past, really first rate. This year, the portions we're smaller, the food okay.

Taking care of the island with fresh seafood

Went to Howard’s for our first time yesterday.Keeping properly distant,bought some fresh flounder that was the best we’ve ever had.Brought home & prepared as simply as could be;just a quick flour dredge & into a lightly oiled skillet.A quick flip & into the oven briefly..........The quality of the fish was just excellent.Highly recommended.

Was trying to figure out whether to order steamed crabs from Gary Howard‘s or Ricky‘s. Woman on the phone at Gary Howard‘s was rude and condescending compared to the sweet young woman who took my order at Ricky’s. When it’s tossup between two comparable establishments, I will always go with the establishment that has better customer service. Time and time again.

Raw fish only available here. Not a restaurant that serves cooked food. Fish might be delicious but we don't have a stove. So, be prepared for some DIY. Website should make this obvious.

No longer serve cooked food but they have fresh seafood. Went there and got fresh clams for a good price

Best seafood on the island!

Bought a bushel of live crabs, drove 5 munutes, sorted the crabs and had 30 dead. We're not very happy about refunding money but did so. No stars

The flounder we got here was spectacularly fresh... Not a whiff of fishy smell. The scallops were fantastic as well. Buy what's caught fresh locally and you can't go wrong.

Yes, I do drive more than three hours to buy the finest oysters and seafood. I order ahead and service is excellent!

Gary Howard Seafood is one of the best places if not the best place on the island to get fresh local seafood they have a good range of items from crabs shrimp fish scallops etc. one thing I love about Gary Howard's is that when I want crabs they will steam them for me and put them in a box that doesn't think so I go home I can just start munchin. They are local, they are friendly, they are awesome.

The new manager was very helpful. And our crabs were delicious! :)

Seafood is always fresh and delicious! We visit from Jersey and always stop here to pack the cooler with goodies before leaving...staff is always helpful and friendly!

Extremely unfriendly to tourists! Asked for oysters and the woman behind at the counter was extremely condescending saying “I don’t have any or they would be in the display case. It’s not oyster season, so...” Our family is not local and we do not know when oyster season is. There are delicious oysters available for purchase at the farmers market from Tom’s Cove Acqua Farms, to start. Also, there are much friendlier ways to explain that an item is not available and suggest/recommend another product that is available for purchase. We will not be returning.

Do call in your order but worth waiting. I had scallops and they were a decent deal and cooked up awesome

Great, fresh seafood and friendly service! We had the soft shell crab sandwiches, they're the best we've had on the island. Grabbed a pound of shrimp and a dozen clams to steam up later and they were superb. Gary Howard Seafood is a tradition on our trips to Chincoteague!

Best place to buy crabs on the island. 1/2 bushel of female crabs are only $35.
